Berkat Roti John Asli dan Ayam Golek is the first and the foremost restaurant
that sells the acclaimed original Roti John and Ayam Golek dishes in the
historical city of Melaka.
Founded by Hj Ithnin Bin Ahmad (also known as Haji Saadon) and his wife Hajah Rabiah Binti Ahmadin, opening its maiden outlet in the scenic beach area of Pantai Kundur in Tanjung Keling, Melaka. The year was 1978 when the first Roti John was rolled out and rapidly gained recognition among gourmet lovers with many other business owners have endlessly tried to imitate the “Original Roti John” but failed in most cases.

Later,
the restaurant further extended its business and own building at Cheng –
another developing township in Melaka located at Taman Utama CU, Cheng Utama,
Melaka. In 2003, Restoran Berkat Roti
John Asli opened another outlet in the heart of Melaka city, to well serve the
loyal customers. Today, our signature dishes such as original Roti John and
Ayam Golek are among the favourites to the locals and foreigners.
THE ORIGINAL ROTI JOHN
The
idea of making the famous Roti John Asli was first discovered when Haji Ithnin
went to perform his Umrah in Mekah and Madinah. He came across this delicious
cuisine during his Haj trip, and further adjusted the chicken spices to suit
Malaysian taste buds.
The original Roti John is indeed a specially prepared sauce which is mixed with the bread to undergo a perfect grilled before serving with a delicately formulated sweet sauce. It is a snack that can be eaten any time be it for your lunch, dinner or supper. Suitable for all ages and genders. To complement this special food, we do serve the traditional Ayam Golek (char-grilled chicken), Fried Quail, Soup varieties and Rojak.

Hj. Ithnin was awarded the Outstanding Entrepreneur Belia 4B, Melaka in 1986.
